At the Gallery at 5619 (Mosaic, 5619 Airport Blvd.), savannahred design will be featured along with 9 other textile artists in a show entitled "A Thousand Fibers." Two dresses are displayed among many beautifully and intricately woven scarves, handbags, dolls, stuffed animals, blankets, and various other accessories.

It's gonna be a bitchin' good time, so rip up those clothes and make something new!

Project: Recycle. Reuse. Refashion!

Lately, I've been challenging myself to refashion things instead of buying new things (or new to me, as the case may seem), and not just create something from scratch. That way, I can still have an appreciation for the things I already have and save some of the fabric I have for other purposes.

Not only have I been doing this with my clothing, I've been doing this with other things such as shelf/dashboard mini shrines! Below you will see the Sacred Heart symbol, and these are made out of cardboard and magazine cut outs. They make me so happy!


I feel accomplished. What can I say?

Oh, and there will be a clothing swap on Saturday, Feb. 21st, for those who are interested. It will be at Space12 on E. 12th near Airport. Come! It will be fun.
