Fashion Show Breakdown | Peter Pan Dress

This dress gets its name from the mock Peter Pan collar applique. It was one of the first dresses I have ever made from when I was taking classes at First Samples last year, and the material is a light blue/teal sateen. I felt that it needed a lot of modification to make it more interesting, so I added the mock collar, sleeves, covered buttons, and a belt. The material for the additions came from some fabric scraps my grandmother gave me. As with many of my grandmother's pieces I have become the humble recipient of, it was apparent that this material was supposed to be a shirt of some sort. I rather like the new use of the fabric instead, don't you?

Miss Erin worked the runway with a lollipop in hand. The shoes are vintage heels that were picked up some time ago at a Goodwill.

This ensemble was purchased at the fashion show. I am so thrilled that it went to a good home!

Down to the wire!

In 24+ hours, it will be time for the show! I am so excited, but I gotta admit, not everything is ready. I work pretty well under pressure, though, so I know it will all work out.

Last night, the models had a fitting, and I almost cried about 5 times. They were so excited about the show, about being apart of it, and most of all, about the clothes! The level of squealing went to an all-time high once there were outfits being tried on, and I couldn't help but be so thankful for my talent and my vision at that time. It was such an honor to have these ladies feel so great in what was made for them. I know tomorrow night is going to be absolutely magical. I simply cannot wait.

The fashion show has been blogged!

You know, there are so many wonderful people who are in my life already, and there seems to be this incredible influx of new ones these days that I am so thrilled about.

I cannot even describe how happy this made me when I read it tonight, holding my friend Heather's hand between her and her mother. I read it aloud, naturally. I'm just so touched right now I can't articulate it.

http://annemariebeard.blogspot.com/ - Check it out. Let me know what you think! And again, thank you, Ms. Anne Marie Beard. This is such a sweet moment for me to read your post.
